The body cream itself is airy and creamy and sinks almost instantly into your skin, leaving your skin feeling soft right away. This one in particular has the most perfect little golden shimmer going through it, giving it a special touch for the summer months, it looks so nice when the sunlight hits it. The cream also does well with sensitive skin, the skin on my limbs is usually quite sensitive and didn't have any reaction to it whatsoever. The cream is packaged in Rituals' standard body cream packaging, this time in an aqua marine colour, with the standard copper coloured lid.

As the title of this post suggests, today will be all about my favourite glowy (makeup) products to give you that amazing luminous summer look. Also, this will be the start of my new series called 'My Favourite Five'. In this series I will be featuring my five favourite products of basically everything I can think of (let's see how far I get with this shall we?). The products seen in above photo are all products I use on a daily basis and that I've found help me in giving my skin that glow from within that I'm always trying to accomplish. Let's dive into them

Highlighter

First up is highlighter. Now, lately it's been all about the Sleek Solstice Highlighting Palette for me, but any highlighter will do honestly. I find that without a highlighter my skin will be looking quite one dimensional and dull. It also looks way more dry, which I find really ages me. The perfect thing about this highlighter, is that it comes with multiple shades in one palette, so you can mix them up or use them on different parts of your face. I like to apply it on the top of my cheekbones, my brow bone, on my cupid's bow and the teeniest bit on my nose. Next to the Solstice palette, some other of my favourite highlighters are the Mary Lou Manizer from The Balm and Champagne Pop. 

Chanel Vitalumiére Aqua foundation

This might be my favourite luminous foundation of all time. Yes I did just say of all time. I love it because it's a lightweight foundation that blends in perfectly with your skin, leaving you with a glowy finish for all year round. Before I always used to go for foundations with a matte finish, but I've found that glowy finishes suit me way better and give you a more natural, fresh and less cakey look. I find that the shade Beige Rose 12 is a perfect match for my skin tone. I also adore that it sinks into your skin quickly, as there is nothing that I hate more than being left with a sticky feel to my entire face. A review on this high end stunner will definitely follow.

Benefit High Brow

This baby changed my daily brow ritual. It doesn't exactly give off a crazy glow, but it sure highlights your brow bone, giving your brows an instant lift. Even so much so that it completely opens up your eyes. Combined with the other glow products mentioned I find that it gives my face an amazing freshness.

NUXE Huile Prodigeuse Or

This is a newer product to my beauty arsenal. I've had it for a couple weeks now and have been using it daily ever since. I honestly couldn't imagine my routine without it now. This non sticky oil leaves you with a glowy and hydrated skin, it also gives off subtle little specks of sparkle. I find that specifically great for summer. Next to using this on my body (I use it specifically for my arms and legs), it can als be used on the ends of your hair, it being a multi purpose oil. I haven't tried this out yet, but I for sure will in the forseeable future. For anyone who likes to use this oil in winter also, there's a non sparkly version of this oil as well.

Makeup Revolution Vivid Baked Bronzer

The blush I'm talking about today has been on my mind for literally ages. It's even been in my basket during a few online shopping sessions, but somehow I never actually went for it in the end. My skin tone is on the cool side, which always witheld me from going for a peachy blush that gives off so much warmth. It wasn't until a friend of mine got it and showed me it on her, that I realized I needed it in my life for summer. If you're wondering what blush I'm even talking about, it's Milani's Baked Blush in the shade Luminoso! And damn girls, this blush truly is LUMINOUS.

Of course the Milani blushes are quite well known in the beauty community and that is not without reason. These budget babies offer you an amazing quality for the price, as they are damn pigmented. The glow they give off isn't one to joke around with either. Luminoso is the most popular shade of the range and a supposed dupe for NARS Orgasm.


Now, Luminoso is a peachy coral shade. Basically this means it's perfect for those hot summer months as it gives the illusion of sun kissed cheeks. Of course this blush can be used all year round as well. And fear not you cool toned ladies, even giving off a lot of warmth, it suits my fair, cool toned complexion wonderfully. Really the shade is good to use for a variety of complexions. The blush itself is really pigmented, giving you a lot of bang for your buck since you only need to use a little to give you the most stunning luminous glow. Though it may be luminous, the little sparkle bits in the blush are very subtle if applied correctly. Next to pigmentation and luminosity, the blush als rivals higher end blushes in it's staying power. Luminoso lasted on my skin while on a day out, all day long. It could still be seen at night time.


The packaging of the Milani Blushes feels quite sturdy. It's made of plastic and I love the gold on the front. Also neat: it comes with a mirror and a brush in a hidden compartment below the actual product. Now, of course I won't use this brush much, but it's always nice to have it there for emergency situations.


Best thing about this beauty? The price. It retails for around 10€, depending on where you buy it. In the Netherlands it's only available online, and I got mine at the Boozyshop for 10,99€. Considering it equals high end blushes in quality, I would say that isn't a bad deal. Hey guys, these favourites are definitely late, but I figure better later than never! To make up for them being a bit late I have quite some favourites to share with you today. What can I say? These past months have been filled with some new and old staples in my beauty arsenal. Most of them are specifically targeted toward the summer months.

Om het een beetje goed te maken is deze favorietenpost lekker lang, ik heb heel wat favorieten om met jullie te delen. Wat kan ik zeggen? De afgelopen maanden zijn boordevol geweest met geweldige producten, zowel oud als nieuw. De meesten zijn ook echte zomerse favorieten.



Firstly there's been two products I've been loving using on my hair. One of them, the Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo Aussome Volume, has been a product I've been loving for quite some months now. The obsession with it probably started late last year and I haven't been able to go without since. It's been perfect for keeping my hair feel light, voluminous and oil free throughout the summer months. Mostly I use this product for styling purposes at the start of my day. The second product is the L'Oréal Elvive Extraordinary Clay shampoo. This is a new discovery, but may I say a brilliant one. My hair tends to be really oily within a day, especially during summer, but not with this baby. I've found I can go an extra day without a thorough wash if I want. It leaves my thick and heavy hair feeling so light. Try both of these if you haven't yet!

Als eerste heb ik twee favorieten voor mijn haar. De Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo Aussome Volume is een product dat ik ergens laat vorig jaar heb ontdekt en ik kan sindsdien niet meer zonder. Het doet alles wat het voor mij moet doen. Een paar sprays van deze droogshampoo houdt mijn haar luchtig, volumineus en vetvrij door de dag heen. en het is perfect om je haar mee te stylen. Het tweede product is de L'Oréal Elvive Extraordinary Clay shampoo. Dit product is een nieuwe ontdekking, maar ik kan wel zeggen een geweldige ontdekking. Mijn haar is van nature heel erg vettig, vaak al na een dag, en dat zeker tijdens de zomer. Dat is echter verleden tijd sinds ik deze shampoo gebruik. Niet alleen maakt het mijn dikke zware haar heel erg luchtig, bovenal ook vetvrij voor langer dan een dag. Heb je ook van nature vet haar? Probeer dan deze beiden uit als je daartoe de kans nog niet hebt gehad!


Now there's also been quite some new products I've been trying out regarding my base and setting said base. Two of my faves have been the Urban Decay All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray and the L'Oréal Nude Magique Cushion foundation. I used the never quite see the use in a setting spray but decided to get a travel size of the much raved about setting spray from Urban Decay, just to try out, and OH MY GOD what a difference it's been you guys! Even on hot days I find my makeup looking the same as when just applied after some serious sweating. Where before my nose tended to get really shiny really quick and in need of a powder touchup, I now see a definite improvement in this 'problem'. Review on this miracle worker will follow soon. The L'Oréal Cushion foundation has been an amazing staple go-to product this summer, I never thought I could love it this much. Dare I say it rivals my Chanel Vitalumière Aqua foundation? Hmm yes I do. I just love these easy, luminous and lightweight finishes, especially during summer time.

Earlier this summer Benefit launched their new brow line and I couldn't resist trying some of their products out. I expected to be wowed by them, but what I didn't expect is that I would be most blown away by the High Brow Pencil. This eyebrow highlighting pencil has transformed my brow game, it gives them such a lift! I love all the products I picked up, but this one has been the biggest game changer. Definitely recommend.

It may seem odd to start with writing monthly favourites while I haven't been blogging, since you guys haven't seen any of the mentioned favourites somewhere on my blog. However, I figured what better way to catch up on which things I've been loving in life lately than going in with some good old favourites? Yeah I can't think of anything better either. If there's one thing I love reading posts on it might be everyone's favourites. They truly show what products end up being loved and which are the ones to get for myself, much more so than reviews or hauls if you ask me. Anywho, this will be a two-parter. Today I'll be showing you all my non beauty favourites, followed by my beauty favourites in a couple days!

Het is misschien een beetje raar om mijn maandelijkse favorieten te benoemen, aangezien jullie geen van alle producten ooit eerder voorbij hebben zien komen omdat ik hiervoor niet geblogd heb. Dat gezegd hebbende denk ik zelf dat het juist de beste manier is om te weten te komen wat nou mijn meest gebruikte producten zijn geweest te afgelopen tijd, vinden jullie niet? Zelf vind ik het geweldig om favorieten posts te lezen, omdat deze daadwerkelijk tonen welke producten en items nou ECHT veel gebruikt zijn. Een review zegt maar zoveel als je het mij vraagt. Oh ja, mijn favorieten zijn in twee delen opgesplitst! Vandaag laat ik jullie mijn niet beauty gerelateerde favorieten zien (deze zin loopt voor geen ruk, goed zo Nanda), en over een paar dagen zullen mijn beauty faves aan bod komen. 


The first thing I've been loving these past two months in fashion is the color white. It's no coincedence it's so highly featured, it's an ongoing theme in my wardrobe. If you ask me it breaths summer, being just so clean and crisp. An especially perfect combination is white and lace. This particular lace top is from H&M, but I have some others just like it. I love to wear this with my jeans jacket, on it's own with some jeans, or tucking it into a highwaisted skirt. Can't go wrong!

De eerste favoriet die echt met stip bovenaan staat is de kleur wit (JA ik heb een kleur als één van mijn favorieten, bare with me jongens ;)). In ieder geval,, het is geen toeval dat deze kleur dan ook zo de boventoon voert in deze favorieten, het is echt een thema in mijn kledingkast de laatste tijd. Wit geeft me een gevoel van zomer en het komt zo fris en fruitig op mij over. De combinatie van wit en kant is voor mij de perfecte combo. De kanten top die hierboven is te zien is van H&M, maar ik heb meerdere andere tops die veel op deze lijken. Ik combineer deze top het liefst met een spijkerjasje, op zichzelf met jeans of in een highwaisted rok gestopt. Zo veelzijdig!

Talking about skirts, I've been seriously loving midi skirts the past summer months. This beauty is from ASOS. Being plus size I always find it hard to find good pieces that I like and that also follow the latest fashion trends. ASOS however can't do wrong. This jeans skirt checks all the right boxes as it's off white, good quality, has pockets and has the most stunning rose gold buttons. To top it all off it's both high waisted and a midi skirt, it fits my body type so well!

Over rokken gesproken, de midi rok is echt helemaal voor mij weggelegd deze zomermaanden. De schoonheid hierboven is van het merk ASOS. Het kan voor iemand met een maatje meer (zoals ik) knap lastig zijn om leuke kleren te vinden die meegaan met de laatste mode, ASOS doet dit echter zo goed. Bovenstaande spijkerrok is alles wat ik zoek in een midi rok, hij is wit, net over de knie, heeft zakken, is van goede kwaliteit en heeft de mooiste rosé gouden knopen. Hij past echt bij me!

Whenever I go out lately I love to bring a nice over the shoulder bag. Where before I used to be the type of person to bring a big shopper, even if not needed, now I tend to opt for a smaller bag. This bag is white (but of course) with gold detailing and was bought at Primark. Since Primark made it's way to my city in May I've been loving finding bargains there. The same with this bag. I feel it's effortlessly stylish and is just the right size to bring necessities with me. All that for only 12€!

Ik ben iemand die het liefst mijn hele kamer meeneemt in mijn tas wanneer ik ergens naartoe ga (je weet nooit wat je nodig gaat hebben), dus nam ik meestal een grote shopper overal mee naartoe. De laatste tijd neem ik echter vaker en liever een wat kleiner formaat tas mee. Deze is wit (natuurlijk) met goude details en komt van de Primark. Sinds dat er in Groningen een Primark is heb ik deze al meerdere keren met een bezoekje vereerd, ik ga van die koopjes. Deze tas was ook zo'n koopje. Hij is zo stijlvol en heeft het juiste formaat en dat voor slechts 12€! Hij ziet er zeker duurder uit dan hij is.

I'm someone who has a BIG obsession with sunglasses. This year I've been on the lookout for a perfect pair of Dior dupes. I found this pair last month pretty cheaply at Miss Etam, a place that's not exactly known for the most fashionable clothing items. However these sunglasses though guys.. such a find! To me they totally give off the Dior vibe. I've been wearing them ever since I got them and find I even choose them over more expensive pairs I own. They're just stunning.

Mijn obsessie voor zonnebrillen is extreem. Dit jaar was ik op zoek naar de perfecte dupe voor de Dior zonnebrillen. Dit paar vond ik zomaar vrij goedkoop bij de Miss Etam, waarschijnlijk wel de laatste plek waar ik voor ze was gaan zoeken. Deze zonnebril jongens..wat een pareltje! Ze geven 
je totaal die hele Dior vibe. Het is zo ongeveer het enige paar wat ik gedragen heb sinds ik hem kocht, ik verkies deze zelfs over mijn duurdere zonnebrillen.



The last item featured in these favourites, are this pair of Adidas Stan Smiths! You guys, I can't recommend these enough. I first saw these when my friend bought them and I couldn't stop thinking about them. Since then I bought them myself as well and I've owned this pair for several months now, they're everything I envision in a pair of trainers and more. I know all the hype lately is about the Adidas Superstars, but I actually find the Stan Smiths a lot more comfortable to wear as they're less stiff and bulky. A review on these will be up sometime later this month!

Het laatste item zijn mijn Adidas Stan Smith's. Hallelujah, wat een sneakers, ik kan er geen kwaad woord over kwijt. Ik zag deze als eerste bij een vriendin van mij een aantal maanden geleden en kon ze daarna niet meer uit mijn hoofd krijgen. In de tussentijd heb ik ze zelf ook gekocht en ik heb ze nu een paar maanden, ze zijn echt alles wat ik wilde in een paar sneakers. Ik weet dat iedereen het de laatste tijd vooral over de Adidas Superstars heeft, maar ik vind de Stan Smith's veel comfortabeler. Ze zijn minder stijf en kolossaal aan je voeten. Toen ik op een gezellige middag weer eens lekker bij Douglas was met intentie slechts wat rond te kijken (yeah right) kreeg ik het op één of andere manier voor elkaar om de winkel te verlaten met twee high end goodies die ik al een hele tijd op het oog had. Oeps? Ik kon het gewoon niet laten jongens! Deze twee schoonheden moesten en zouden met mij mee naar huis. Het spreekt in ieder geval wel een beetje voor me dat ik 5€ korting kreeg door mijn opgespaarde punten toch? Ik grijp elk excuus aan. Grappig verhaal is dat ik op een bepaald punt van plan was om zelfs drie producten af te rekenen, maar ik heb mezelf gestopt vlak voordat ik bij de kassa kwam. Zelfs mijn make-up verslaafde hart kon het NIET aan om zoveel geld in één keer uit te geven (en ook mijn bankaccount niet). De MAC Prep + Prime Highlighter Pen liet ik liggen, maar ik ben zeker van plan deze snel in mijn bezit te krijgen. Laten we maar eens ingaan op wat ik wel mee naar huis genomen heb!


MAC lipstick in Fanfare

I originally came to Douglas to see if they had any of the MAC lipsticks in that have been on my wishlist for summer for a while now. MAC lipsticks are by far my favourite at the moment and they come in just about any shade you'd want. I wear them almost daily. After trying on shades like Crosswires, Coral Bliss and Peach Blossom, I settled on the shade I thought suited me best: Fanfare. This shade had been on my wishlist since it's not too out there to make it not an everyday lipstick for me, but is noticeable and bright enough to make it a perfect summer shade. Review on this lipstick will follow soon!

In eerste instantie was ik naar Douglas gekomen om te kijken of ze bij de MAC counter een aantal van de MAC lippenstiften op voorraad hadden die al een tijd op mijn zomer wishlist stonden. MAC lippenstiften zijn op het moment verreweg favoriet en ik draag ze bijna dagelijks. Het helpt dat ze er zo ongeveer in alle kleuren van de regenboog zijn.. Nadat ik kleuren zoals Crosswires, Coral Bliss en Peach Blossom had uitgeprobeerd, besloot ik om voor de lippenstift met de naam Fanfare te gaan. Deze lippenstift stond op mijn lijstje, omdat hij niet al te uitgesproken is zodat ik hem niet dagelijks zou kunnen dragen, maar nog steeds genoeg fleurig genoeg is om een perfecte zomerse kleur aan je lippen te geven. Review volgt snel!

En dan nu de échte schoonheid van deze haul.. ja echt, ik heb een heuse Bobbi Brown highlighter gekocht! De afgelopen maanden kon ik deze schoonheid maar niet uit mijn hoofd zetten. Ik ben werkelijk geobsedeerd met highlighters op het moment voor de zomer en ik moest deze gewoon hebben. Toen ik deze highlighter swatchte ergens in de lente, werd ik meteen verliefd op de bijna rosé goude glans. Het enige wat me tegenhield was de belachelijk hoge prijs. Ik kon hem nu echter gewoon niet langer weerstaan en zette mezelf over de hoge prijs heen ;) Het enige wat ik jullie nog kan zeggen is dat deze highlighter mijn gezicht niet heeft verlaten sinds ik hem heb aangeschaft.
